
RULES AND
REGULATIONS
All entries must be registered with the secretary on or before
All recitations must be obtained from
the secretary; however, requesting them does not enter anyone in the
competition. Please advise the secretary if you wish to enter.
No competitor in the afternoon
session may compete in more than one age group, but a competitor may compete in
both the music and literature selections for the same age group.
Competitors in the afternoon session must be
18 years of age or under.
No competitor
in the evening session may be under 19 years of age.
All selections in poetry competition must be memorized.
All selections in music competition should be memorized.
In all open selections (Music)
competition of both afternoon and evening sessions, each competitor and choral
director must inform the secretary at the time of registration of the title of
the selection to be sung or played.
In the
evening session vocal and choral competition and also in the afternoon session
choral competition, the competitor must submit a copy of the selection to the
secretary ten (10) days prior to the Eisteddfod date if the competitor does not
have his/her own accompanist.
At the time of competition, each
competitor must provide a copy of the selection for the adjudicator. Please identify
all copies so that they may be returned to the owners after the competition.
Once the competition begins, a
competitor who has not answered the roll call will not be allowed to
participate.
If a church, organization, or school
enters more than one chorus, quartet, trio, or duet in a competition, an
individual may participate in only one of the choruses, quartets, trios, and
duets. A person may, however, participate in one of each of the four
competitions named.
A person may
compete with more than one chorus, quartet, trio, and
duet if the competitive groups are of different churches, organizations,
or schools.
Failure to comply with any of the rules and regulations will result in
elimination from competition.
